A well made adjustable spiral candleholder with a large iron base and a nicely designed carrying handle from the mid 18th century. This candlestick was designed for safety and function. It was used in the home as well as in the shops. The coil forms the stem of the candlestick which allows a cup (holds the candle) to be raised or lowered to adjust the burning candle.
